About Branchbound
What is Branchbound?
A subscription library of interactive stories — text + word-synced narration + ambient audio + meaningful choices. Plus a creator tool, Studio, included with every plan.
Who is it for?
Readers who want stories with shape and care. Parents looking for something curated. Hobbyists who want to make their own. Anyone tired of infinite-scroll.
How is this different from AI Dungeon / chatbot RPGs?
Those generate as you go. We build stories the slow way — written, narrated, scored, tested. Curation and craft are the product.
How is it different from Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books?
Real branching state, narration on every line, ambient soundscapes, and a creator tool you can use yourself.
Subscription & pricing
How much does it cost?
$19/month or $149/year for founding members. $29/month or $249/year after. Pricing details on the /pricing page.
What's the founding deal?
Sign up at the founding tier and your rate is locked as long as you stay subscribed. Future increases don't affect you.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. One click in account settings.
Do you offer refunds?

Free trial?
Read the first story free, no sign-up required. After that, 14 days or 2 stories — whichever comes first.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Audio is optional and toggle-able per story.
Subtitles / captions?
Word-synced text is always shown. Narration is an audio layer on top.

Studio
Is Studio really free with my subscription?
Yes. No upcharge, no separate creator tier.
Can I publish stories I make in Studio?
Private share with friends in v1. Public publishing comes later, with editorial review.
Do I keep ownership of what I make?
Yes.
What about commercial use?

Multiplayer
What is Story Night?
A shared-screen mode for reading a story together as a group. One reader, group voting on choices.
Async voting?
A friend-group can read the same story over days, voting on choices as they go.
Realtime co-op?
Multiple readers in the same story at once, each playing a character. (Shipping later.)
